The Log Cabin is DONE! Whoopie!

Some of you might remember that I started this log cabin blankie for my SIL and nephew to be, but I frogged almost the whole thing when I didn't like how the striping pattern emerged. Well, I finished it! Yay! Now I have to decide if I should go ahead and mail it to her now, or wait and give it to them as a Christmas present (she's due at the end of November). I am pretty happy with the way it turned out, though I think I'll do the border differently next time (if I ever do this pattern again, lol).

And yes, I am going to cross post this on the market board because it took me a long time to make and I want people to see it, dernit! lol.

Beautiful!! I love it!

How did you do the border? How would you do it differently?

I followed the directions for the mitered border from Mason Dixon Knitting. They had me pick up the stitches from the WS so that the border is more pronounced instead of looking like just another row. To me, it made it look unpolished, or that I had made a mistake or something. I love the mitered border, but I think I'd pick up the stitches from the RS if I did it again. I'll take a picture after I clean up my grody kitchen, lol. I have been puttering around online all morning.

Wow Amy, that is gorgeous! It turned out so well and I love the colors you used. You have a great style! I'm sure she'll really treasure it.
