advice on sweater

I am knitting the Kelly sweater from dailyknitter.com. Love it. But, the yarn I choose swatched up differently so I had to do some calcs. Well, I messed up apparently as the sleeves are about 4 inches too long. Otherwise, everything is OK. It is knit top-down garter all the way across both sleeves then bind off sleeves and knit rest of body from boobs down in stockinette. I will try to get a pic. Can I cut and pic up stitches and knit a cuff. Of will there be alot of unraveling since the sweater is knit in garter like that. Here is the pattern link:

Ok, I have finished this and the sleeves are way too long. I corrected everything else. Any ideas? It is way too bluky to roll up.

Oh boy, that's a tough one.

I just did a fantastic scarf for my dh & the beginning looks like crap. I tried blocking it out, but it just didn't work as I'd hoped. I kept thinking if there was a way to undo, but I'm just going to leave it.

Did you try blocking it yet? Sometimes that will help.

The only other think I could come up with is cutting it off & finishing it with a sewing machine. What yarn did you use?

Cutting it seems the only option. I mean they are at least 4 inches too long. Blocking it won't help. I used Paton's Divine, which for mostly acrylic, I like. It does have wool and mohair but not enough to shrink. I love the yarn but am not liking the sweater so much. Maybe I will when finished.
