Felted Sweater?

Hi fellow yarn lovers -
I'm new to the board, but am an experienced crocheter (baby sweaters a specialty), if you ever need help.
I also knit a bit, and have fallen in love with the felted items I've seen. I would love to do a felted sweater, but none of the books I've seen have patterns for one. Any books you could recommend?
Thanks!
Karen

Karen ~

I think a felted wool sweater would be too warm. Unless you are planning to use it as outerwear.

I definitely could be wrong, but...I've never, ever seen a felted sweater pattern before.

BTW, welcome!

I purposesly felt men's sweaters for me to wear. I get so cold and they are so warm and water resistant. They do feel a bit bulky under the arms. I have not knit one to felt but I did see a book I think at elann.com or knitpicks.com for felting that had a sweater on the front. My memory is vague.

Today I am wearing a sweater I felted. It was an Eddie Bauer Fair Isle from Goodwill I paid $4 for. Men's XL. I wear a women's small. It shrunk to fit me well, a little boxy. I also felt sweaters and make slippers and mittens and bags out of them.

The book is Fabulous Felted Hand-knits by Jane Davis. It was at elann.com
