New to knitting, need help...

I am trying to learn from www.knittinghelp.com

I totally get the double tail casting on....no problem...now time to knit a row right? Well I can't seem to uderstand just what do do. Any suggestions to help clarify....you go under the stitch and then how does it pull off the other needle?

I just watched the video for the knit stitch, using English knitting, which is how I knit, and it seemed very clear to me. You might do better with having an IRL demo, so you can be up close & personal. If you have a local yarn store, you should be able to go in & get some basic help, also most have lessons available.

after trying a few more times I think I got it. I was unsure how to get the stitch off the needle...but thanks for looking for me!

Yea! It is awkward at first, but after a while you get the hang of it, and it doesn't feel so awkward.

Wow, I am amazed at these people that can learn from watching a video or reading a book. I have to have someone show me things.

We look forward to some knit and shows now!

Thanks so much, mamas!

I am doing ok with it, I haven't tried any patterns yet due to lack of time, but I have finished a blanket for ds's stuffed animal

Any suggestions for a good first pattern to try?
