bouncing bunny Short row shaping for "earwarmer hat"?

I can't find free instructions anywhere! What I'm looking for is actually like the hat on Theresa's pattern page http://www.littleturtleknits.com/pag...nepatterns.php. But, I don't want to buy a whole pattern for just the ear part, kwim?

Anyhoo, I was going to incorperate that earwarmer part onto the Celtic Cap for a warmer hat. Anyone have any help with this? Or know of any free patterns with that kind of short row shaping? TIA

I would start & end the short rows an inch before the middle, and maybe do 2-3 sets spaced out a bit, depending on how pronounced you want the shaping to be.

someone recentl;y posted a link to Cameron's Cap, a free pattern with short rows to make ear flaps. I bet you could google it and find it.
