With the help of the SnB book, I figured out that I was knitting and purling wrong, and I finally got the hang of it! I finished two Christmas gifts so far, a pair of legwarmers for DD (she picked the colors, maroon and off-white), and a pair of wristwarmers for my sis.

The legwarmers were kind of boring to make, but I had fun with the wristwarmers. Not only can I knit and purl, I can also k2tog, PSSO, and SSK, LOL. Can you tell I'm excited?

Hey those came out great! Nothing like finally getting it right huh. I worked on a hat for weeks before I found out the reason it wasn't working out was because I was yarning over in the wrong direction...argggg so frustrating!

The SnB book is great isn't it??? I knew I was doing something wrong and the illustrations helped me figure it out. Another great book is the _REader's Digest complete guide to Needlework_ You can get a copy on Half.com for like 75 cents plus shipping. GREAT book.
I love the wrist warmers(want to make myself a pair!)
And I bet your dd is lovin' the legwarmers!
