Felted Bag question

I'm making a bag, but not using a pattern....well I'm using a few patterns and combining them LOL.

I have a question about the straps. I am making 2 straps and sewing them on to the bag. I'm *assuming* that it works best to felt the straps and the bag separately, and *then* sew the straps onto the top of the bag? Is that right?

thx!

I just looked in my book Knit One, Felt Too, and all the bag pattens have you attach the handles *before* felting. They will fuse to the bag during felting, thus making them stronger. HTH

I felted mine before I stuck it on, but felting it after you put it on, makes way more sense. I'll do that next time

thank you both!

LOL I was actually hoping that felting it first would be recommended, bec I don't have the straps done, and I'm dying of curiosity to see what its going to look like!
