Hey. I'm knitting my first hat (it's my second real project just to give an idea of how inexperienced I am lol). I'm using double point needles and knitting in the round but I messed up and am knitting inside out, so I can see the purl side on the outside and the knit side on the inside what should I do does it matter?!

when you finish it will you be able to turn it rightside out? then I'd say it doesn't matter.

i agree. just turn the piece right side out when you're finished.
