bouncing bunny are ya sick of me yet?

ok, so don't answer that! LOL!

but I just have to share the results of yesterday's playing.

The crocheted fabric rug that I intended for the back door had to live in the kitchen. The back door is right by the kitchen table and when it was near the placemats it was just "too much". Plus it is too thick and gets in the way when I open the door. It goes with our chipping painted cabinets. Uh, yeah, we're going for the "rustic" look....yeah, that's it.

And the piece de resistance...the crocheted fabric purse/tote. Dh laughed at me but I think I'm cool and that's all that matters, right? ROFL!

Dannielle,

I've loved all the crochet and shows lately!
How much yardage do you think you've used so far? I'm starting to look at some of my bigger hunks of fabric now thinking they might be better crocheted than sewn.

Awww, thanks, Rebecca. I might think I'm cool (at least in my own little imaginary world lol) but I never expect anyone to agree with me.

Hmmm....yardage. I would guess on bigger rugs I've used maybe 25-30yds. I'm guessing a placemat would be 1.5-2yds for one placemat. My little tote was maybe 5 or so yds. Fabric baskets (like the one on my kitchen table holding fruit) take 3-4 yds.

I tell ya it feels really good to have helped the fabric fufill its destiny. I had so much fabric that I bought either because it was such a good price or because I failed to use it for it's intended purpose. I have very little woven fabric left...just a few special pieces. Now I need to find a project for knits! And I've been looking at flat sheets in a whole new way. I could use a rug in the foyer...

good idea...but I have a slightly more insane idea lol. I was looking through a catalog last night and this caught my eye

http://ww2.potterybarnkids.com/cat/p...k&gids= k4085

it's made from strips of cotton knits. I happen to have a rug hooking tool and some backing material. I just don't know how to use them. ROFL! Guess it's time to google or visit Amazon.com for a how-to book.

My library had a book on how to make that style of rug. I can look next time I'm in and get the title for you. I check it out every once in awhile to admire all the pretty rugs in it. LOL

I was at Borders the other day and had to bring this book home with me

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...323038-4552632

I don't know why I have rugs on the brain so badly. Well, rugs and bed linens. I'm obsessing over them. I also keep thinking about that slash cut "chenille" star rug you made (that was YOU, wasn't it? LOL).

And what on earth is that strung all over the kids' room? Mason has been known to do the same thing in the living room with contraband yarn rofl!
