I made these for the summer season table swap on the craft board, but thought I'd share here too.
The baskets were knitted from lambs pride wool, a scallop was crocheted on the top edge, and they were felted. Here they are before:
Did you see the cute green one in there? Remember that one, I need advice on it later.........
Finished, they measure about 2" x 3". The veggies are made from clay.
Here are all 10 of them:
Here are the veggies:
cherry tomatoes
cucumbers
yellow wax beans
blue potatoes
blueberries
peas on a pod
green beans

And, here they are in the basket:
And an extra picture:

Now for that green basket. Sigh. I had hoped it would be a cute, spring green harvest basket. But, I was a dork. I didn't pay attention to my yarns. I had some left over Kureyon, so I used it for the body. Then, I ran out before I put the I-cord on the upper rim. So, I used some Nature's Spun. I forgot that they would felt at different rates. I was just thrilled a found a yarn in a similar color in my yarn basket.
Well, instead of a cute harvest basket, I have a snake charmers basket:
Yikes! Now what? What do I do with it? Any ideas? I was thinking of just felting a snake and putting it inside. LOL
Thanks Mamas.
BTW: I know they look surprisingly like little felted bowls. I know I have a rather ugly addiction to felting bowls, but these are NOT bowls. They are baskets. Yes, baskets. A totally different item than a bowl. They have almost nothing in common. Nope, nothing. That's my story, and I'm stiking to it!
