You have to be careful with Bev's Very Easy Booties. There is a mistake in the pattern; unfortunately I never remember it when I'm not actually making them.
(It's obvious when you get to it, though.)

ch=chain stitch
ss=slip stitch (also slst)
sc=single crochet
hdc=half-double crochet
dc=double crochet
tr=treble crochet
Remember that unless the pattern states otherwise, the turning chain at the beginning of the row counts as the first stitch (except for with single crochet).
And always count your stitches.
