gnome for ear aches?

Samantha gets frequent ear aches. I usually heat a wet washcloth and put it in a baggy and use it. However, I do not like that warm plastic so close to her body. So, I am wondering about knitting a gnome on smaller needles so the knitting is very tight and filling it with flax seed, rice, herbs and wool that can be heated in the micro or dryer and used for her ear. But, I am wondering about size. Would I do better with just a square? She often sleeps on the warm washcloth. I am not sure a gnome would be easy to sleep on. Any ideas?

Hi Michelle,
Actually, you may be better off, making an inner bag out of an old t-shirt or cotton, filling it with your choice of ear ache remedy, then knitting a rectangle or square to go on the outside. I think it would be hard to be sure that nothing comes through a knitted piece.

I will be making up some bean bags to add to my store this week on this same idea.

Warm wishes,
