Im making a baby blanket for my youngin who is due in a few months...im a late starter im 32, and am doing one of the two only remembered stitches my grammy taught me when i was like 5.....

Anyway my question is...when im finished, i want to add (yarn) fringe all around the blanket...surely i dont just cut and tie on...well not a regular knot anyway....do i???

Yeah I think that is how you do it. At least that is the only way I remember how.

Do you mean you take a piece of yarn cut to twice the length of the tassle length you want. you fold it in half put the loop thru an opening in the end of the blanket and insert the two ends then pull it tight.

I think that is how my mom did it. I'll ask her when I call if there are any other ways to do it.

the way I usually see fringe created is to cut pieces of yarn double the length you want the finished fringe to be. Fold the bundles of yarn in half. Pull the looped end of the folded yarn through the blanket. Then stick the cut ends through the looped end and pull to tighten.
