have you caught clapotis fever yet?
it seems to be sweeping the knitting blog community, and I've caught it, LOL! I was up So late last night starting this thing, but I have to say I'm lovin' it. Check out my full report on my blog, but here's a pic of the work-in-progress:

I have the knitty pattern in my "to do" file but am waiting to get the perfect yarn for it. I don't want to make it with something less than wonderful. What are you using? It looks almost like it has a sheen to it.
Is it easy? I only skimmed the pattern but was mildly confused. I am sure I can figure it out, but any tips would be wonderful.
It looks complicated, but there really aren't any difficult stitches in there. It's all pretty basic stuff--especially if you've got a good stitch reference site bookmarked

Thanks y'all! It really is a nifty pattern. Lori, you can totally do this, it is NOT hard at all! It's just straight knitting, with the occasional twisted stitch (just knit in the back "leg" behind the needle instead of the front leg) and then the magic happens when you drop the stitches. It's kinda like a run in your pantyhose, except you want this to happen, LOL!
The yarn I'm using is an exact sub for the lion and lamb. It's henry's attic Andromeda, 50/50 silk/merino wool blend. I have it on it's own special page (http://www.littleturleknits.com/clapotis.htm ), LOL, cause people have been drivign me crazy. I'm doing another order next Monday. If you check my blog, I've got a bunch of pics up of the ones I dyed this weekend for the clapotis knitters on wooly wonders. I have to say that this really is the nicest yarn I've ever knit with, and I have knit with a LOT of yarn! I had it with me yesterday at brunch with the in laws, and my MIL couldn't stop fondling it the whole time. She's put in her request for one in taupes and browns to match her spring coats, LOL, so I'll have to get crackin on that after I finish mine
The yarn is absolutely gorgeous...hmmmm I wonder if I can use it to knit the Aibhlinn cowl from knitty? I will have to investigate to see how it would work. I have to finish a bunch of knits but after that it's gonna be all about me baby LOL
