I dunno, it just seemed a bit too complicated to me I prefer having my needles. I wonder if you can adjust the width with that thing. It seems you might be stuck with scarves with the paddle.
I have no idea!

Fancy tools confuse me.

I got one of those knitting machines once…you know where you can simply knit by pulling it back and forth….uhm…I am not describing g it well. ANYWAY my husband thought I could use it for bigger pieces and concentrate on detail more. I ended up putting one of the needles into my finger, down the side of it about 2 inches…..then I took it out and threw the machine ( I am not a violent person). My husband was very understand, and only gets me needles now…ha ha ha.

So, put simply…that paddle thing confuses me.

Hrm. Someone is selling something nearly identical over on the MDC Trading Post, except hers is just oblong, not a 'paddle'. I agree that it looks like too much work if you already know how to knit. Might be nice for a kid, though

Melanie,

I've seen them w/o the paddle handle too, at a few websites.

I watched the demo and I think the handle was added so the working yarn could be secured to it while the loops are worked off the pins, I guess so you could do this with only one hand. It was developed by a doc and husband of a knitter for therapy purposes it says.
