crochenit??

have you heard of this? it's crochet, but it looks like knitting and it's supposed to be faster and take less yarn? I just discovered it, and I'm thinking about trying it. it's called different names, I've heard camel crochet, crochet on the double and also crochenit (I think that's how to spell it, lol.

Anyway, I'm wondering how hard it is to learn and if anybody does it and likes it??

I think that I've done this, but it was called something else. I found instructions in this really old needlework book. I thought it was pretty easy to learn, but also easy to mess up but I didn't stick with it for very long.

I know what you are speaking of, but I have never tried it. I hope to try it soon.

I just looked it up and to me it looks like tunisian or afghan stitch...which imo is slower than regular crocheting. Especially since you're limited to making things that are the length of the hook. They do make special long hooks but you're still pretty much gonna hafta piece stuff together.

That's it. I learned it as tunisian and the book it was in had a lot of projects actually, but it was all piece work. I can invision a cute patchwork skirt made out of little blocks of it!
