pink smile What hand do you hold your yarn with?

Yes, I'm being nosey

I actually hold w/ my left hand and "throw" the yarn over my needle.

What's your style?

I'm a "picker".
I guess I hold it with my left hand (not sure, not holding any yarn)
From what I've gathered, I'm a "continental" knitter. I find having to let go of my needle and wrap the yarn around the needle takes too much time. I guess that's just the crocheter in me!

I hold it with my right hand. I am left-handed, and though I don't follow the directions for left-handed knitting I am primarily a crocheter, so I use my nondominant hand for yarn always.

The yarn is wrapped around fingers of my left hand and picked up with the right needle as I go. I don't wrap the yarn by hand but let the needle grab it. Does that make sense?

I've tried continental b/c it seems so much more efficient but I just can't get the hang of it. I'm still a right hand wrapper ~sigh~

I'm a continental knitter as a result of being taught by my mom, who was taught by her mom, who is German.

my mother is German and she taught me how to knit. I had no trouble following knitting but her purl method completely threw me. Did your mother teach you to purl? My mother's purl techniqure really resembled a crochet move. Lots of needle moving and yarn wrapping LOL

Either. It depends where I'm sitting (which arm has more room to move)

It also will depend on how hard the pattern is, I think if it's harder I go back to the way I learned (right-hand and wrapping I think??)

Anyway....
