Thought I would share this here too.
Did this for my mil for her birthday. Forgot to take pics when I made it, so I had her get it out for me when we were down this weekend. I had seen lots of styles of needle and notion holders and combined my favorite styles into one bag that holds both.
Here is the bag closed. It folds into thirds and ties shut with a ribbon that I attached using buttons--basically to make it look neater.
When you open the bag, there is a section with 6 pockets to hold various notions and even fits circular needles. I put flaps along the top of the pockets to hold smaller items in place.
Fold back the notions piece and you have a whole row of pockets for knitting needles. I did a variety of sizes to hold small, medium and larger needles.
