**PICS ADDED** I'm Hooked on Koolaid dyeing yarn, what are your favorite colors?

I've done berry blue and love it. I also tried to mix 2 packets cherry w/two packets lemonade. It's still red. I'd love to have a funky orange and funky green. I'm not so crazy about the way the lemon-lime turned out. I had to redye it with 4 packets.

What flavors do you use? Any combinations? Share please!

Here's some roving I did a while back. You can also use food coloring (which is what is in Kool-Aid) with vinegar.

From left to right they were:
cherry KA, yellow food coloring, blue FC, blue and red FC, green FC, grape KA, orange KA, green apple KA, pink lemonade KA.

I did orange with 1 packet red, one packet yellow, try that or try 2 yellow, 1 red, or just buy orange KA or FC.

HTH!

Here's what I came up with:

4 packets grape for the purple (I also did a mix -- 2 berry blue, 1 cherry and 1 lemonade and got basically the same color)

2 packets lemon lime for the green then dyed again with 4 packets lemon lime

This is a blend of the back and sides being 2 packets berry blue and the very front part of the v is 4 packets berry blue. IRL the one dyed with 4 packets is darker.

And last is the stripes. 4 packets orange, the green and purple as described before and the red is 4 packets cherry.

I did try 2 packets cherry and 2 packets lemonade and got a lighter shade of the red -- more pinkish.

And there are variations in the wool that I dyed because it was all grey with about 12" of color in the yarn pre-dying. The koolaid made the already colored sections of the yarn darker and it seemed to be a bit felted.

I had a blast and have one more soaker to do.
