ME-immunizations

When I first took Andy (4 weeks) to the doctor I had to fill out this form from the state as to my reasons for not getting him immuzed. He was born at home, but both the doctor and nurse asked me about Hep B. I was caught off guard and just put down 'religious'. I was also getting Molly (4 yo) her measles only and the nurse wrote on her form which shots she did have.

What is this about? They told me the state wants to make sure the doctor has gone over the facts with me. We never discussed it since we switched to her after another doctor closed his practice. That was my question (about vaccines) besides them excepting new patients.

Well, if the state wants your doc to have gone over things with you~ they sure did an incredibly crappy job with me.

They gave my 13 year old a hepB shot WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I was furious and said so. The PA who ordered it mumbled some nonsense about him being older so they don't usually discuss it or require a signature. HELLO!!! He is a MINOR CHILD!!!! Obviously my teen son doesn't want me hovering in the exam room with him, so I told him that if anyone ever comes near him with a needle again, he is to scream bloody murder.

So if ME is trying to have informed parents, they aren't doing a very good job if you ask me.
