We go every year...I grew up just outside of Springfield and as a kid we would go at least once, if not twice. I live over by Champaign now, and we always head over each year, but this year we are bowing out due to my pregnancy. Hopefully, we will be going back next year.

Awww~~~ Come on, be adventuresome! We can look like to watermelons together

We're going 8/15-16 that way we don't have to do all that driving, run around to see everything, and then head back north at the end of a very long day. DH is going fishing in Alaska for the week so I'm taking the kids and my mom.

I'm just hoping for cooler weather!

I'm *trying* to talk dh into going, but its a good hour and half drive for us

LuAnn ~ Tell your dh this mama has at least a 4 hour drive, with a gaggle of kids. Thank goodness my mom is tagging along since dh is going on a "business" trip with a friend who's dealing with some issues. We're also spending the night at a hotel so it's a double bonus for the kids. School starts when???? An hour drive is nothing!!! It takes almost that long to get to the nice mall.

Well since I only have 1 child and hes only 15months I dont have to worry about school,except for dhs classes,lol. I just put an email out to his friend that lives in Springfield, so hopefully hell talk dh into coming up if they are not doing anything. But it would probley be this weekend as next weekend we are talking about going home (northern IL/southern WI) to visit family.
