I see in your profile you knit! Are you involved in the public library or park district much in Aurora? I do lots of stuff at the Eola center and have seen a sign for months for the knitters club at the library. I keep thinking of getting involved. Its the 4th Tuesday of each month, so next Tuesday!

Ooooh! I'll have to look into that. I've taken ballet at Eola on and off, but I haven't been there in a while. I live closer to the main library than the Eola branch, although I do go to Eola for the used book sales. I can't get enough of used book sales! Do you know what time the knitting club meets?

Oh man I hear you about the used book sale! I spent 11 bucks and came home with over 20 books last time I stepped into the library. I dont even know where the main branch is. I just moved from Montgomery and we were in district for the Aurora park dist. we were oswego library though. But I step in from time to time when Im at the eola center for one of the kids classes. Im pretty sure the knitting club is at 7pm. Have you been to the new aquatic center! WOW! Its amazing.

Yeah, this thread is seven months old...but I had to say Hi! I grew up in Aurora, IL. Makes me slightly wistful to see mamas talking about it. I was on the east side, grew up at 1775 Molitor Road. Went to O'Donnell gradeschool, Simmons Jr High, and East High.

Good morning Ladies!

I must have had this thread/forum on notice, because I just recieved one this morning. Hi, to all of you from familiar territory!

I was born at the old Copley Hospital in 1962, when it was on Lake Street near the Police Station. My family lived on Smith Street in Moecherville at the time. We moved when I was about 3, over to Robert Street on the west side and that is where I lived for the rest of my time in Aurora, before we had children and moved back a few years later.

I attended McCleary Elementary, Benjamin Franklin Middle School, Aurora West High (before it was named "South"), then transferred over to the new Aurora West High North Campus. The North Campus has since changed over to the Illinois Math and Science Academy, though I'm not sure if it is still operating.

I haven't been back in Aurora since 1997, to settle my father's estate when he passed. I can't say that I miss Aurora, due to how much it has expanded. All of my childhood memories seem to have disappeared. And, I no longer have any family living there.
