I do - it became tilted I think somewhere between my 3rd and 4th kid..or maybe after my 4th. I never gave it much thought but realize now that it is probably partially responsible for some of my discomfort. Is having a tilted uterus an age thing? Having lots of kids thing? My dr. keeps mentioning it everytime I go, but never specifies why it is mentioned.

I was told that I had a tilted uterus when my oldest was 3 years old. The doctor forgot that I had a child already and she told me that I would probably have trouble conceiving when I got ready to have kids. I had three more and conceiving them was never the problem.
Last year, I had a hysterectomy, but I don't think the tilt of the uterus had anything to do with the issues that I was having.
When I went to my last OB appt the doc mentioned my uterus is slightly tilted. I also know that my cervix is twisted too. Hmm, wonder if that is going to cause problems with a natural delivery.

When I had a uterus, it was tilted. I was told it would make it harder to get pregnant too but of all the things I have had to deal with, that was never one of them. lol. I think that it is not that uncommon to have a tilted uterus and that there is a wide range of normal in that respects. I used to work with a doctor who said that the biggest problem with a tilted uterus is that it makes it more challenging for a doctor to palpate. Beyond that, unless it is extreme, she said it really doesn't cause significant problems.
I read your intro to the forum. Its such a struggle to sort out all the changes that are happening and know which ones are normal and which ones are problematic. This phase of life really seems to have been kept firmly under the shroud even amongst the strides made in women's health awareness. We really are blazing new ground and hopefully we and our daughters will benefit.

When I was seeing an OB before my first son was born, over 22 years ago, he said that my uterus was tilted. I've never heard anything since that point, so I don't know if it's tilted anymore or not.

Thanks for your replies. Well at 40 and with 4 kids I have had no issue with getting pregnant either, though I did have an issue with staying pregnant as I had three m/c as well - but I have since had a tubal and have no plans of having more kids.
I was reading that women with tilted uteruses can experience pain when having sex and also have problems wearing tampons. I have definitely experienced that though in the former instance not enough to dissuade me from participating, but in the latter instance, I get severe cramps until I stop wearing tampons.
Hmm, that is very interesting about tampons. I do know that my cervix is still hanging a bit lower than I would otherwise like, so maybe my uterus is still tilted. Heaven knows that I've had more than my share of miscarriages, including one stillbirth. This is great to know, thank you!

my uterus was tilted between my second and third children. it wasn't tilted anymore after the third birth (nor was it tilted before kids or after the first child.)
i always assumed it was just how it "landed" so to speak post-partum? not sure about that. i no longer have a uterus (i am 8 1/2w post op hysterectomy) so no more tilt i do know the tilt or lack thereof had nothing whatsoever to do with the issues leading to my surgery.
Mine has always been tilted and it's always made ultrasounds hard, especially in early pregnancy. Even when I have a full bladder, they can't seem to get a clear picture. I think the way my uterus is shaped also contributed to the intense back labor I had with both of my children.
