Another rung in the Menopause Ladder-Creaks and soreness

Jeepers. Those aches and pains that I hear all the old people talk about. Well I got a glimpse of them. Must be the lack of estrogen and the changes that take place.

My health has been funky for a few weeks and this just opened my eyes to a whole other part of life. Growing old and the consequences of it. Consequences of not eating right, nor being taught what is good or not overcoming all those bad food choices.

Maybe I do need to go back to curves. I took a break when I worked at the restaurant, but maybe it is time. Trying to find a bellydance teacher but not finding one close by.

Nutritionally there has got to be reasons for this.

I think my problems are too much coffee-eating too much junk while traveleing, coming home to try and catch up after a 2 week absense, and then halloween candy, with stress.

Menopausal women, we need to take care of ourselves!

You and I must be on the same wavelength these days, KR. I have been really feeling my age and my hormones (or lack thereof as the case may be) lately. I often wonder how much of my aches and pains are fibro related and how much is menopause related. In my heart I know they are not separable, but I think that there is still much denial going on about where I am on the wheel of life. (why is is that such challenging physical times come when we are in such intense periods of transition with our offspring? I mean I feel like I could deal with one or the other, but menopausal stuff alongside of dealing with the assorted issues that arise with teens. A recipe for hard times. )

Good morning Ladies!

When those aches and pains begin to flair up on me, I know that I haven't been paying attention to my mineral intake. KR, I know that you like to get your nutrition via foods and herbs, so maybe upping your intake of those foods that offer a higher mineral base would help. Soups can contain a wide variety of tubers, legumes and beans, which I believe are the most mineral dense food available. Yes? No? Being that it's fall and the weather is getting a bit nippier, it's an ideal time to toss together a nice and warm pot of soup!

I am pretty sure my minerals are fine.

It has been several days since I wrote that, and have been observing my body more closely.

I discovered that part was my poor eating. Not just a littel here or there but several days of too much. Then I just got sick. So bad I could not eat meat for a few days. I could not tolerate it. I spent a few days drinking 3 X per day dandelion, milk thistle and burdock root tea and was able to get emotional results back right away and after 5 days I feel well again.

I also disovered in that 5 days that my body is craving movement. I see why so many menopausal women recommend Yoga to other women.

I can tell stretching is a very imporant need we have. Listen to your body and see if it tells you the same thing.
It was so clear to me like never before.

A sad realization has come to me this morning. I realize that I am not as strong as I thought I was, so am suffering the consequences of my poor choices.

Friday night I went out with son #2 and I drank more than I should have, more than I KNOW is good for me. It is SO tempting to do it though, because of the complete loss of pain of perimenopause, fibro, adrenal fatigue, etc and on down the line. I tell myself that I will just have one or two, but by the time they begin to set in, I want that freedom from being burdened by the woes of aging, so keep on and go past what is good for me. <sigh> It doesn't help that I have a stomach bug, too, along with having taken a dose of a bad batch of Bentonite Solution, and caffeine withdrawal from not being able to keep anything down. UGH! It is now Sunday morning and I still feel as though I've been ran over by a train.

Are there things that you say or do for/to yourself, that help you to stay on track better?

Ok Sue. I learned a few weeks ago when I feel bad to drink dandelion, milk thistle, adn burdock root tea. Or any of them to help the liver process everything it is going through right now as well as maybe a charcoal tablet if you are sick sick.

I hoep you are better today. I did not see this yesterday

Thanks KR. I still have some of the Dandelion Tincture that I received from you. I also think that I have Milk Thistle in tea bags. I doubt that I have anything burdock though. I have charcoal capsules, but the stomach issues have passed now, so it's just a matter of getting my system back in balance. Thank you!

Thank you! It is far from being taken as a lecture, but as a reminder from one sister to another.
