Motherwort is good for heart conditions such as palpitations, and sorrow (as in a broken heart)
Said to settle a mothers womb, helpes our cycles, and helps in delivery.
Scientisif studies ahve shown motherwort to promte delayed mestruation adn hasten childbirth due to its chemical componenets leonurine and stachydrine which stimulate uterine contractions.
Glycosides contained within have the effect of lower blood pressure and reduces stress ont he heart muscle.
Can help mestrual cramps associated with scant bleeding, but not recommended for cramps with heavy bleeding.
Also helps those moments of anxiety which easily come with menopause unfortunately. SOme sya it helps with hot flashes. Thank goodness it has cooled off and I have not had them as bad, so I cannot say if it has helped mine lately.

Thanks! I have some tincture of Motherwort and will consider it for "those" times. I've been having great success with 5-HTP, but will certainly keep this information in my database.

I think every woman needs to carry a bottle of motherwort with her like I do....which reminds me, I will be flying this week adn I bet I cannot take it with me....hmmm..I better go to the market board and ask now.
