I have had the worst time with breast feeding. With my first son I did it for 10 weeks then just pumped for a couple more. It so horribly painful I would sob when he was eating. He was latched on correctly, we changed positions etc...nothing helped. Eventually I just had to stop (even the midwives and Dr said to stop)

with DS2 he was (and still is) very tongue tied. I started having the same pains and quit after about 5-7 days.

with DS3 I only lasted 5 days again. I have some vague memory of the Dr saying something about DS palate or something...dont remember the details. I tried to just pump but wasnt getting much and DS was starving so I gave up. The LC was of no help at all...grr

Im trying to decide if I want to try again this time or just go right to the bottle. I may consult a different LC this time before the baby is born

I am in a way Could only bf for 4 weeks, pumping and sometimes breast...but Aidan is ONE of those babies that did not.doesnt get nipple confusion...I could switch back and forth and he did not care, Ihad to supplement with formula, and now we do NOT use the same bottles all the time, we switch his nipples so he doesnt care, we do the same with the pacifiers, but when it comes to night time sleeping he perfers the nuk pac.
