I didn't know you could do that with Kazaa. Was that one of those kind that someone goes to the movie with their video camera and tapes it from the audience?
I'm going to see it next Tuesday I can't wait - looks good! I like Joaquin, too!

Rarely are they the videotaped versions anymore, nowadays they're ripped right from a video or a dvd from screening purposes or for critics. THe picture quality on Signs was pretty good, but I'm still gonna see in the theater, lol.
Now Stuart LIttle 2 was definitely a videotaped version - you could hear someone cough, lol, haven't seen one like that in awhile. But Monsters Inc is ripped from a dvd, it's really nice quality, looks like dvd quality.
IMO it's "okay". It is tense and scary in parts, but I just expected more. It's one of those movies where you're sitting there 1/2 way through thinking, "How are they going to end this!?" because it seems like a no-way-out situation. Well, up to that point it was good, but then the way out was so lame and unrealistic - I don't know. I liked it even so, but it could have been better.
Okay, so I read great reviews everywhere, and I wasn't impressed. The aliens looked very cheesy. This was not Mel's best work either. I'm beginning to think M.Night Shyamalan is very overrated.....
I know I am dredging up a very old post, but I have been dying to respond to this and since I finally saw the movie I can finally add my piece.
I love M. Knight Shyamalan and I think he is brilliant! I guess you could look at the movie as being two-in-one but I really think the whole thing was about finding your faith. The aliens went away because people found their weakness (or becuase it started raining and they were like WTF? LOL ). And I thought Mel Gibson did fine. He did just as Shyamalan has all of his actors act- distant.

Well I haven't thought about rain with rain, the whole movie makes even less sense, IMHO. I felt the the movie is waaay over-rated, the plot is extremely weak, many things don't make sense at all, the acting was just so-so, and the whole impression of the movie is bad.
As to M. Night Shyamalan: I LOVED "6th sense", and think that was a very good movie. I saw "unbreakable", and it was good. Not as good as "6th sense", but still ok. As for "Signs"... I think M. Night felt a little too much pressure to come up with a new movie, and it is the lamest movie we've ever spent our $17 on (saw it in the theater). Felt like it was thrown-together in a couple of months, including the script.
I'll not write more, as I'd say too much for those who haven't seen it yet but I am very very surprised "Signs" is getting so many good reviews. Just my opinion (and dh's, who has a master's degree in movie production).

Anyway - I like Mel Gibson (eye candy....) and Joaquin did a great job - LOVED the kids!

The aliens retreated due to the water and the fact the planet has tons of water.........LOL! Water kills them!
I found the movie entertaining but not scary. I liked the tin foil hats, that was funny.........LOL! The aliens were also very freaky looking and I liked the idea that Mel's wife sent him a message before she died about the future, that gave me shivers.

ok...just watched it! sorry to bump this up again...
ita w/ renata on this one!! i loved 6th sense, haven't seen unbreakable..but this was just ok..
& imho opinion any writer/director {considered a newbie} who puts themseleves in his own flick...lol, {wasn't that m. night as the guy who hit ml's wife?} well..... pick 1 craft & stick to it until you have been around a bit, kwim?
This was an okay movie... (and I have to say that I grunted in sympathy when Merrill hit the alien in the kidney with the bat. OOF!) But that was it.. OKAY. Not great. Not even good. One of those "if someone offered to pay my way I might see it again"
