Very lovely movie. Fascinating glimpse into an indigenous culture (Maori) of New Zealand.

Great acting. Sweet, poignant story.

Sigh. I did have trouble understanding the New Zealand accents BUT used english closed caption to help me.

I recommend this for families but there is a sad opening scene of childbirth gone bad and a lot of deep family conflicts.
