Rental review Under the Tuscan Sun

haven't made it to a theatre in a couple of months and itching to write a review.

~ Pretty scenery. I thought the plot and dialog was ridiculous but dh who usually is much more critical than me about such things disagrees and liked it.

It reminded me of a Hallmark tv movie or some very old time plot of a movie (think Cary Grant, etc)

Watch it if you like the idea of Italy and lots of golden hues. Watch it if you want to feel happy not to have a philandering hubby OR maybe even if you do.

If you've seen it and have a different take on it than me please let me know (maybe it just hit a quirky personal nerve?! )

I had heard so many great reviews of it...I, too was disappointed. Pretty scenery, but just eh on the storyline.

I never did get into it. I thought it was slow and rather boring. And who is that nutty blonde? And the silent carpenter- why was he in the movie? Anyway, not my cup of tea

I just watched this too and was disappointed. There were far too many undeveloped characters, imo. And a few characters that seemed like they were just 'tossed' into the movie for no real reason.

I found it boring. A storyline with fewer deviations and more development on the main theme (her rediscovering herself and moving on through grief) would have made a much better movie.

The scenery was definitely the best part of the movie. I wouldn't really recommend wasting two hours on it though.

Now see.......I liked the movie. Don't know why. I really like Diane Lane. I love the scenery, the way that Francis found herself by relying upon herself, the friendships she made, and the BEAUTIFUL villa.

Did y'all know it's from a book? Great book! It has actual recipes in it! It is actually sitting on my fireplace mantel right now. Bought for me by a dear and worldly friend who has spent time in Europe and Tuscany especially.

Natasha.
