Cabin Fever
This was rated R and they checked everyone's ID at the door (even mine and my 35 yr old DH).
Good thing.
This is a very gory horror film. It's fantastic though-the humor is terrific and it knows where it goes over the top but it's a wonderful nod to early eighties horror films like Evil Dead and Friday the 13th (before they got silly that is). We didn't know what would happen at every turn and that's a plus.
Jeepers Creepers 2
This sequel takes place the day after the original movie. It's more funny than scary. The creature is shown too often, too close, no surprises so it ruins the fear part, plus the movie has no plot at all and is too predictable. A shame since the original was good.
Wrong Turn
A surprisingly well done film. Lots of edge-of-your-seat suspense, I held my breath more than once and it makes me not want to ever go camping again or anywhere remote for that matter. Scary because while there is no 'monster' and the adversaries could be real (inbred hillybillies?) so that makes it a good thriller. You are rooting for the good guys. A sequel is imminent.
Underworld
Skip this. It's like someone tried to insert Matrix bullet time effects into Blade 2. Not enough character development and way too many badly done long range bullet time action shots. The music is loud so maybe the makers were hoping that would distract viewers from the lack of originality. Wait to rent this one, it's just not worth full price.
That's it-hope I helped some horror fans pick a flick. Can you tell we've had a lot of date nights this month?
