I'm guessing to apples. She came to me and said she felt yucky and I rubbed her stomach and found hives all over her. I've given a dose of benadryl, spoke with a ped, have a call in to our dr. who deals with allergies, and am watching her closely.
She's acting awfully tired, I'm not sure if I should be concerned our not - she was up late last night and I had to wake her this morning to take her some place. The dr is calling us back in a few mnutes.
I HATE ALLERGIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had no idea she was having a problem with fruit. What on earth can i feed her?

my ds can't eat raw apples ~ cooked are fine. His lips and throat get itchy, and he just feels gross overall. I looked it up one time and it was some sort of tree allergy, I think. There was a list of other foods that could be allergenic also if someone is allergic to apples. I'll see if I can find it.

thanks. She is acting out of sorts, but the hives are receding. I gave benedryl and then did what our other dr. recommended - hopefully between the two she'll be okay. In the meantime, I'm at a loss: what am I supposed to feed her? she can't have dairy, no gluten, now no fruit?
Aww, sorry you're going through this. Sounds like my DS, dairy free gluten free, no apples. He eats a lot of meat, rice, veggies if I can get him to, sunbutter. He loves sunbutter with strawberry jelly on tapioca loaf bread.
Anyway I hope she feels better soon.
Was the apple organic? Did it have the peel on? Was it waxed? I just ask because it could be something that is NOT the apple, but one of her other allergens that was waxed onto the skin of the fruit.
I hope you are able to find out quickly.

ditto this. I have a friend who's teen can't eat conventional apples, but can eat a half dozen of regular apples if he wanted to. Apples are one of the "dirty dozen" if I remember correctly - produce that uses the most pesticides. 12 Most Contaminated Fruits And Vegetables | Healthy Reader
She actually ate a bowl of non-organic natural applesauce. Dh is seriously allergic to apples - so it's not shocking + dr. heather tells me that I'm also allergic to fruit - which I kind of knew since I get that oral allergy thing when the trees are pollinating.
aw mama, that is so not fun or fair. I'm so sorry. ((comfort)) Allergic reactions in and of themselves can make you sleepy for a variety of reasons. How is she feeling now, any better?
ha. now she has hives again. I just gave her another dose of benadryl. I'm so not happy - I'm totally exhausted and don't know how I'm going to sleep if I have to keep an eye on her.
I hope the second dose kicks in, and you are both able to get some rest. I am sensitive to so many things as an adult, I can't imagine going through it as a child.
