speaking of cranberries, i was cooking ahead tonight for thursday & thought i'd share

i made some cranberry sauce from scratch...i found a really simple (super duper easy) recipe online and gave it a whirl. i made two batches & that rendered about a quart and a half of "sauce", which is really more like fruit preserves in texture. it occurred to me that the same recipe could be made with blue, black or strawberries with similar results (jam-esque)...it's YUMMY. not too sweet, not too tart...just right IMO.

i know some have an issue with the whole berry texture, but this is a mixture of textures:

i used my wooden spoon to mash the berries against the side of the pan before i pulled it off the heat, so there are no whole berries left...some partial berries but mostly just yumminess. storing it in mason jars until thursday...it's really yummy. i've already tried some.

it'll be great with my vegan celebration roast and harvest vegetable pie, but i'm sure the turkey and ham eaters at my table will love it too.

took less than 20min including prep.

enjoy!

We do something similar-- if you have huge texture issues with it you can take an immersion blender to it

I wanted to thank you for posting this! I hadn't ever made cranberry sauce before and I don't normally like whole cranberry sauces but I mushed this one up fairly well and it is REALLY yummy! Smelled so good when cooking too. Chloe was totally amused to watch it transform in the pan
