You would be here all day if I listed mine....lol
Especially living so near the wild, I harvested many new plants to me and working with them. It is awesome, I must say.
Arrowleaf balsamroot instead of echinacea.
And elder...I suggest you keep either berry or flower tincture or syrup, if you are looking for some natural remedies.
Name brands are sambucol and sambucus.
My kids have had 2 rounds of stuff since school started. We live where it is quite cold and I feel one of those episodes were partly their not dressing right and weakening their immune systems.
But we have been around the flu and colds and elder has purged fever and had the boys well in 1 day.
Using the flower, the fever may go up some because it kid of aids the whole fever purpose and gets it going and outta the body with its magical blossoms.
The berry is an excellent anti viral (both parts are actually) but the berries dont move fevers as well in our experience, but is invaluable in the body working to fight virus and bacteria and gives a good dose of vitamins esp vit c.
The only supplement we are taking regularly is fish oil and vitamin d.
Every few days the kids take a supplement called body balance since I got a local trade of this supplement for some soap they needed.
We eat really healthy and use herbs for our nutrition so I dont know alot about supplements except there is one that everyone loves at the store and I cannot remember the name.
Wellness formula...that is the name.
I have a room full of tinctures, dried herbs, oils, and essential oils that I use depending on the condition and symptoms. And I feel I jsut cannot live without them all. They help us so much.
Like this year I worked with anise hyssop for the first time, What a delightful plant.
In the late spring and summer when I would nibble on the wildplants, I notices how it made my body feel.It would open up my lungs so I could breathe easy and then it moved upward toward the upper respiratory tract.
Such a great plant to have in tea this time of year I never even knew about until this year.
