Blue food? | Ask Metafilter

lol they didn't come up with much-- they do tell how to do the cabbage though. I think it might be easier to do a red white and blue-- maybe FINISH it with a blue dessert?

That panda bread was so cute. Evie saw it and started running around the room singing about Pandy Bread. Her birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks - I may have to bake some for her.

I thought it would be easier to deal with the color and not the candidates.

Okay - back from the store. Either all the college kids had the same ideas I did, or there's a sudden run on Terra Blue potato chips and purple potatoes. What was plentiful seems empty today.

I got:
3 cartons of organic blueberries (tiny)
2 (tiny) heads of purple cabbage
4 huge purple potatoes (the last four!)
2 bottles of some kind of blue juice (like blue machine)
blue crab (to make dip)
blue corn tortilla chips (and pineapple salsa as a nod to Hawaii)
blue cheese I have already - maytag
*blue* diamond nut thin crackers (Skylar was so pleased with herself)
blueberry nectar to make homemade "jell-o" squares with whipped cream
deja blue water
already have the blue moon
blue sky soda for the kids
blue diamond smokehouse almonds
blue bunny ice cream
and, I always have big bags of frozen wild blueberries from Tj's - so I'm thinking either GF blueberry muffins tomorrow for breakfast or homemade blueberry pancake topping on GF waffles

Thanks for your help! The kids will be giddy
