While the Iraqi War is terribly heart-wrenching, abortion has taken many more lives.
WORLDWIDE
Number of abortions per year: Approximately 42 Million
Number of abortions per day: Approximately 115,000
UNITED STATES
Number of abortions per year: 1.37 Million (1996)
Number of abortions per day: Approximately 3,700
• Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended, and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion. Twenty-two percent of all pregnancies (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.
The number of abortions has increased with Bush in office, yes? What difference will another Republican make?
I also don't think that a law is going to change people's hearts on the issue, and abortions will still occur.
Like I said, I can't vote just on one issue. There are so many more that concern me--education, welfare, poverty. Let's make it so that those who are choosing an abortion due to feeling trapped with no other choice can be supported and have another choice.
Obama's voting record is not propaganda, its fact.
The VIDEO is propaganda. Not his voting record. It's meant to be sensationalist. That's all. I agree that the law is appalling. But I haven't read about it to really understand what it is. Don't worry, I'll be reading.

Shall we dig up the number of innocent people killed in the name of war? Tit for tat? The amount of money being diverted to the military? The "Rebuilding" of Iraq? One of the commenters there has some interesting numbers:
Quote:
John McCain -- We will stay in Iraq for 100 more years if necessary.
Which means ....
- 400,000 American sodiers dead
- 3,500,000 American soldiers wounded
- 1,300,000 American soldiers severely wounded
- 100,000,000 Iraqui civilians.
- $ 100,000,000,000,000 spent is a war of lies
A PP said she didn't want the government to dictate who she shared her pie with - and millions of women don't want the government dictating what happens with their bodies.
Neither of us will change the other's mind here, so let's just and move on.

Firstaball, I hardly find a place called nohussein.org credible...way to be racist there. Just b/c he's got Muslim name let's hang the jerk eh? @@
Second, find me a credible link about his voting record on that...
I'm not a straight party voter, nor do I vote strictly on issues. I find McCain's fear-mongering ridiculous...since when is hope, love, and freedom of choice frowned upon in AMERICA? It is when McCain is involved...he's the most negative person I remember in recent years and I refuse to endure another 8 yrs of Republican screwups. I'm not saying Democrats don't have their fair share of snafu's (b/c we all do, and I'm not calling myself a Dem either) - but we have to turn our country around and McCain's ticket is very much like what we're enduring now.

let's just follow each other around today!
ita with all you said. especially the part about giving people other choices/support so they can make better decisions... when you know better, you do better...and it goes along with that pie-sharing...
Ask the people of Iraq if it is a worthless war. My brother and friend are there right now - one as a Marine, one in the Navy. Both said that the Iraqis are grateful. War sucks - there's no question. But freedom isn't free.

You are absolutely right, but the METHOD that got us there was WRONG. I never said it was a worthless war. I would also venture to guess that while most Iraquis are grateful that Hussein is gone, their war-ravaged, civil unrested, hundreds of thousands of dead civilians...all that is lost is going to take decades to recover from. Who is responsible for that? WE ARE. (Meaning the government.)
That said - I have NOTHING but respect for the soldiers. I'm a member of Soldier's Angels and send care packages to the Middle East. I completely disagree with the political agenda that got us there, and keeps us there...which has nothing to do with the honor, integrity and dedication of the men and women serving.

Reason: puncutation. ;)
Elizabeth Dole would have been a much better choice, if he was looking for a female VP.
Can this Palin really be president, when - uh - if - something happens to mccain?
well, probably at least every bit as much as Obama. She has more experience than he at heading up, though I wonder about internationally... Of course, that's what a president has good advisors for... not one of them is perfectly ready to step into the role of president in a vacuum.
