Totally calculated, and totally predictable. I seriously doubt that Colin Powell would have even remotely considered accepting a VP nod, but he is probably one of the ONLY repubs that I would seriously consider voting for as PREZ, for about a split second.
But here's the thing - Obama is telling people to vote on the ISSUES, not on skin color. Voting for him *because* of his skin color is as bad as *not* voting for him because of it IMO. The same is true for a VP who has a vagina instead of a penis.
While I *know* this IS going to be reason for/against for a lot of voters - when it comes right down to it don't we all want to be judged for WHO WE ARE and not what we look like, our religion, our gender...?

I do agree that it's not really a big issue. As a staunch Democrat, it doesn't even phase me. However, it is still surprising to me. But you're right, Meo, it's going to be impossible to find someone with no skeletons. Except me. And I won't be on any Republican's ticket any time soon. Well, I am pro-life, so that might help me out.

Elizabeth Dole would have been a much better choice, if he was looking for a female VP.
Can this Palin really be president, when - uh - if - something happens to mccain?

I can't watch it right now, I'm popping in and out with my littles around. I'll look later.
But I can say that I am pro-life all the way through life, and I have to make choices politically. I can vote for Republicans, who may share my pro-life (before birth) status, but absolutely do not share my philosophies on many other issues I consider important and vital.
