do you still have sales people knocking??? and I am not talking religious people cause they are easy to deal with for me! LOL
but I mean the lawn people and the security people trying to get you to switch, and the vacuum sellers etc etc
I finally put one up on our door. It is insane the amount of sales people walking through our subdivision trying to sell stuff.
In our old house, there was a sign and people still knocked all the time.
SO I am thinking, if someone DOES....I am going to take advantage of my pregnancy hormones, point to the sign and say "can you not read???" and shut the door in their face!
Location: So let them talk about us, let them call us funny things, people sometimes do. I dont care as long as you know I love you. Oh, and you know I do

We got LOTS of door-knockers at our old place. I'm relieved to be pretty far back in this one

occassionally. and i usually put up my hand to interrupt their talking and point to the sign and close the door.
though i have been known to answer the door, wait for them to stop talking and say something to the effect of "i know that the georgia public schools are 48th in the US but i am almost positive that they teach reading" then point to the sign and close the door

We haven't gotten anyone knocking with our sign. If I did, I'd just ignore it since I figure the sign is explanation enough as to why I'm not opening the door.
Pre-kid I worked in a law office with a no soliciting sign on the door. People would walk in and try to sell stuff ALL the time. One of the attoreys told me to tell them "We don't buy stuff from people who can't read!"
I point to the sign and shut the door... I tried to tell one lady "there is a no soliciting sign on the door". she said "that's okay , it'll only take a minute" I said "yeah and it only takes a second to do this" and I shut the door What a dip - but yes i still get them all the time and I am so over being nice... I ususally don't even point and just shu t the door so the sign is right in there face

We don't get many salespeople, but I do find it interesting that we still have people trying to "sell" us their religion despite the plaque by the doorbell that reads - "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15"

I did until I printed a sign from the internet. None since. The JWs even quit coming. They would come and talk and ask for dh specifically. Which ticked me off, because I am trying to turn him christian, and how dare the JWs talk to him! LOL. No seriously, it did unnerve me to think he would take time to listen to them and not me!

Where did you find a sign online to print off? I guess I could just make one myself though. It really bothers me because I feel obligated to listen and care even though I don't. I feel guilty because it's a sucky job and everything and I know they get turned down all day, but I resent that it's MY problem now. So basically I need to get tougher and either get a sign or stand up for myself.
