Does your dh work away from home all week?

I'm just wanting to see how viable an option it is. My dh may be taking a job where he will be gone from Mon morning until Thur night. I'm trying to figure out the pro's and con's of it all. Moving to his job is an option but honestly it falls below him being gone four days a week.

This has been the most stressful time of our marriage and I'm continually amazed at how rock solid our relationship is. I'm so lucky I married the man I did .

Sorry, a little So, any advice to share? Anyone btdt and still happily in love?

Kaight - My husband travels for work during the week. It could be M-F, it could be only 3 or 4 days and each September he's gone for about 11 days for a convention.

There are pro's and cons for sure. Him working this job enables me to stay home. But, I'm a single parent during the week to THREE girls (9, 6 and 2 1/2). EVERYTHING falls on my shoulders, school, after school activites, dinner, bathing, EVERYTHING. After 8 years, I'm used to it, but usually in the winter I get into a funk, but I move on.

It also gives us lots to talk about. We talk while he's gone, we sometimes set up the camera on the PC so my DH and the kids can chat. Him and I talk about the places he's been to, things he's seen. ETC. SOMETIMES we do get to go with too which is fun.

And I don't know if your DH is going to fly and/or stay in hotels, but because of having hotel points and frequent flyer miles, THAT's how we can afford vacations. Otherwise, we'd NEVER be able to pay for hotel rooms, plane tickets, etc.

So, you have to weigh the good and the bad. Good luck with your decision. If you want to talk more PM me!!

I did it for 7 years.Dh would leave on monday be home sat.We survived it pretty well.We did have ups and downs but we did all we could to keep it going.Regular phonecalls and notes here and there helped us keep it going. When I started to HS the kids a opening happend for him to come home.So it is nice to have him back.

yup-we did it. I can tell you, parenting 6 kids is hard, but I quickly found my rhythm. The only thing I would wonder is what it will do to you financially to have 2 households. The food alone killed us because DH bought convenience foods, but his living expenses were paid for by the company.

Good luck to you!
