what is a basket? I have a sterilite box w/baby toysin it - it has a lid, of course. And there is a waste paper basket in the bathroom. That's it.

i don't care for baskets because they make me feel like the things in htem are jjust jumbled up and not organized. I like having a clean surface and a basket contains too many items.

are you talking just natural material baskets, like wicker? We don't have many of those, not my style. But we have tons of plastic bin/baskets that we got for $1 a pop & use for everything. I also have a few cloth baskets that I like for things but match our style better.

in LR - 9
office- 5
entry & hall - 2
kitchen - 13
bathroom - 3
craft room - 7 (& 20 cardboard photo boxes for materials)

So that's 39 on the first floor. Most are in cabinets and things though. YOu'd never notice them all.

the ones I counted are just the wicker and woven wood slat (fake Longaberger lol) baskets.

Rivka, that's so ironic because for me baskets organize me. And I always look for the perfect basket for each application so that stuff isn't jumbled. But, I'm one of those people who likes to have everything where I can see it and easily accessible. I'm not an empty-kitchen-counter kinda girl.

In fact, I'm trying to convince dh that we don't need upper cabinets in the kitchen. I can't stand cabinets (I always leave all the doors open and bang my head lol). My dream kitchen would be shelves with baskets.

I'm with Rivka, LOL, 0 baskets here.

But, I AM an empty counter girl. Heh heh... that's what drawers and cabinets are for. I've got to have things tucked away, or else I feel surrounded.

I only have 33 in my main living areas; 19 in the kitchen, 9 in the bathroom and 5 in the livingroom. If you listened to my dh you would think my house was over run with them.

You know..a basket for my knitting stuff wouldn't be a bad idea. It's residing in a big plastic bag right now, with smaller bags for projects...hrrrmmmmm

The rag basket you made me is on my coffee table. I have a wicker basket on my dining table holding my cloth napkins. A Stair basket, on the stairs & longaberger basket on the kitchen counter holding my mixing spoons.

**I forgot the 2 in the bathroom, on the back of the toilets...change my count to 6 ~WooHoo!!

We have 38 in our main living areas - I use them to hold nearly everything
from fruit, to snack bags, yarn, books, magazines, toys and more toys, tea, homeschool stuff, cassette tapes, chalk, crayons, paper, pencils, etc...

Warm wishes,
Tonya - whose 4 older children are out in the snow!

More than I thought.

One in the kitchen for cloth napkins.
One in the living room for library books.
One in the living room for seasonal books.
Two in the living room for small toys.

Then, if you count the basement (playroom), there are 6 baskets for toys.

total:11

Tara

ps: Dannielle, I think we need some photos! 59!

LOL...ok, I took pics. But, really, they're underwhelming. It really doesn't look (at least to me lol) like there are an insane number of baskets squeezed into my tiny house. And, hey!, you'll get the Natural Playthings factory tour rofl! I need to do some cleaning in the kitchen so ignore that. I marked all the baskets...there are a couple that are hidden from view so you'll have to trust me that it's really there LOL!

ok, first pic is where I'm working on NP stuff...the "assembly dept" on the NP factory tour lol! Big basket of felt on the right, next to the couch, on the couch there is a square basket of my emb floss and a small basket holding usable felt scraps. On the 1/2 wall is a basket of things that are next to be worked on (already cut out felt animals and wrapped bendy bodies)

Second pic...3 baskets of in-progress personal crafty projects under end table. Under the other end table is 2 baskets that hold finished, in-stock NP items. This is the warehouse on our NP factory tour.

Third pic, under the nature table is my magazine basket and, barely showing its contents, the basket on the left holds the beginnings of stock for my new business. (don't worry...this is *in addition* to NaturalPlaythings) 3 small baskets are inside that basket...along with other stuff. On the nature table is a basket of pine cones and 2 small pumpkin shaped baskets. On top of the bookcase are 3 baskets...one holds napkins, one holds a plant, and one holds tea lights/votives/incense/lighter.

Kitchen. 9 baskets on top of cabinets...5 on top of fridge...3 on shelves (holding linens)...and the trash can is a basket.

And in the corner of the dining room is the basket stand. It has 9 baskets on it. And on the floor are the kids' school baskets.

And the metal container on the right (didn't count it as a basket) is our final stop on the NP factory tour. This is our gift wrap and shipping dept.

ok, that's 54 accounted for baskets. 3 more in the bathroom and the shoe basket in the foyer. Hmmm...that's 58. Oh! I missed one in the pic. On the top shelf of the bookcase there's a green basket on the left that's not marked. 59.
