Lets talk Snuggli's - Daddy sling?

DH bought one last night at a consignment store for 8.99. I had always heard that these were not especially good for babies b/c they sometimes cut off the circulation to babies legs and it wasn't good to put all the weight right on their spine/tailbone. However, this is a very padded, delux type snugli and i do not know if this makes a difference. He really likes it, says it is his "Daddy Sling". He still plans on using the OTSBH but will use this for hikes and long day trips, like the one to the civil war battle ground this weekend. Somehow I feel like it isn't AP, am I wrong?

What do you say?

He's carrying baby close to him in a soft carrier. Sounds pretty AP to me, although I HIGHLY suggest a "manly" (haha) black Ergo carrier. It is SOOOOOO worth the money and is MUCH more comfortable. He'd really like it, I'm sure!!!! I miss ya, Ashley! Hope things are going well for you!!!

oops! Sorry Selissa! Yep, I accidentally posted twice i see!

Let me rephrase, I am so used to my slings that this carrier seems foreign and not AP, even though I know that we are carrying the baby. Like Selissa said on the other identical thread my concern is the weigh she would be butting on her spine, etc....

This carrie is good to 26lbs or so. Will she safely be able to use it when she is a little bigger or is there still the concern of her weight on her growing spine?

I used a snuggli with my first babe because she HATED a sling. She was very long and liked to be streeeeeetched out. She's a very tall, straight, strong little lady now

I think it's very AP, and as long as it's not used on a daily basis I don't think there is too much to be concerned about. She'll be hearing her daddy's strong heartbeat, and I'll bet he'll have his protective hands supporting her back most of the time as well.

My dh is the same way - he would NOT use a sling - so he used a older style snugli from the thrift store for the first three when he carried them as young infant. Then for the twins he got a Baby Bjorn which he liked even more. As long as it's not for hours and hours every day - I was o.k. with it because he was carrying the baby (esp with the twins - it was a lifesaver to have him wear one!).
