he's good, although a little overly cautious. good enough to pass his test in 10wks-i think.

can't believe that he's actually going to operate a car on his own. seems too young, kwim? wasn't he JUST turning 5 yesterday?!

time has flown by, and it's so unfair.

i hope this kid remembers happy thoughts and good times.

that's all i want for him

you are brave Kas.
Chelsey can get her permit the end of this month actually - we're just waiting on her final report card in 3 weeks or so. If the grades are where they need to be she'll start driving lessons too.

My stepmom is a driving instructor (you know, when you get a ticket and have to go to school? lol) - so she's going to help with the lessons and has already gotten chels the new driving book to study.

Its so fast - i was just looking at pictures of chelsey at 4 to show Zoey.

Congrats on entering this new phase. THe driving phase. I'm very very frightened to start ours in a few weeks honestly.

I was very apprehensive when Jonathon first started driving! I would have held him off for a couple of years, but really needed to have a second driver in the house at that time. I just about put my foot through the floor board a couple of times, hoping that somehow a new brake for my side of the car would have manifested!

With Nicholas, I turned him over to Mark to instruct. WHEW!! Living in PA for Nicholas is like Helter Skelter compared to driving in Illinois.

The two of you will be SO proud of your teens! And it doesn't hurt to be able to write a grocery list and send them in either.

I am secretly (okay, maybe it isn't a secret, lol) overjoyed that the driving age where we are moving (Enlgand) is older than it is here. Of course the girls think it stinks big time.

If they think that stinks - they ought to take a look at the gas (er, I mean - petrol) prices there.

The bus,train,bike, foot...will all look mighty attractive when they realize how much they have to pay to drive. I don't agree with many of my parents' ways of raising me, but making me buy my own gas is something I am completely on board with. That and my own insurance. I fully believe that if you are responsible enough to drive, then you are responsible enough to find a way to pay for it.

Well yep, Rachie is going to be a permit driver soon and if she has a successful year , next year I will let her drive. She already has a job adn it woudl releive me of some time. Of course it woudl be very controlled driving. To work and back and an occasional thing or 2. I am concerned aobut the teens driving-their lack of experience could cost them their lives so I am not at all opposed to a higher driving age if the state in question has a high accident rate amongst teens and young adults.
