My living room revamp... Can I have your thoughts?

I honestly think it looks pretty good, but I am thinking it may be too much... You tell me what you think:

This is a slide show... first you have to suffer through the kids being cute and making me breakfast, and their timelines... then on to the house stuff. (Not really, you can skip them by pressing forward if you want.)

Thanks for looking and any suggestions and comments you may have!

Val

PS These pictures below are basically the 'before' shots, esp after the living room was painted. It has looked like that near exactly for two years now:

I like each shelf flanking the fireplace. It looks more balanced than before.

What do you think is too much, specifically? I think it looks great. Isn't it hard to work with such a tiny space? I think our houses are similar sizes, except you have a little bit bigger living room. Mine is about 8x10, the area I can actually use for a living room, and then I have the table right in the kitchen, within a few feet of the loveseat. I have contemplated getting rid of the loveseat...but we decided that if we were going to have a tiny living room, putting lots of couch space to hang out on was key.

I think it looks great Val.

I see you have a closet right by the front door too. I have one and have been resisting adding a coat hook. However, that closet it pretty stuffed now because we have 6 people in this house. I like your coat hook in the entryway.

Thanks guys. It feels much less open than it did before, but at the same time, it seems WAY more functional. I like it better now that I have put some pictures in. I am waiting for the 5X5's to be printed now and I take another pic and put it up here.

I actually got rid of my loveseat because there was NO where to put it Lauren. lol! I could have put it in the middle of the room I guess... cutting the place in half. But I like floor space. And wall space... so although this feels really classy and nice, it doesn't quite feel like me. Although I am already happier about stuff not being on the floor and such... So who knows... the style may really grow on me.
