Danielle, I'm sure you've looked into this, but what about converting it to a waste veggie oil truck? Greasecar Vegetable Fuel Systems I know some of the rights to waste veg oil are getting bought up but for the individual person I wonder if it can still be done, especially in not-as-hot-on-biodiesel areas.

On cutting grocery costs, dh and I eat rice and beans and cook the kids what they will eat. We're working on getting them to eat other things but for now, we'll eat what's healthier and cheaper for us and what's as cheap as possible while still being healthy for the kids. I think where each family will cut costs has to be so individual. We don't even drink milk here. Just half and half for dh and me in our coffee.

That is an amazing difference! For a while it was that much. Today it is only $.18 different. But still... on a 17 gal tank that is $3 a tank. And the premium gas (which is what Don has to use for his car) is closer to $.30 a gal off.

Aldi's is cheaper than Sams....

That said though, since Aldi's is a bit of a drive for us, I do weekly shopping at Sams.

One question, my family has to drink Lactaid (talk about expensive milk) so they are very limited in it's use. Would either of the products mentioned be the same as lactose free milk? They won't do dried milk, dh was raised on "half&half" as his mother called it (half dried, half real) & it would foam up when you put it on the cereal.

I do use dried in all of my cooking, it's just cereal or drinking, that I'm looking for an alternative. TIA!!
