Wood polish? I want to make my own.

is it lemon oil that I use? What do I buy or make? We have a lot of wood in this house that needs polishing and maintaining and I want to do it for less and in a healthy manner.

I usually just use olive oil and a drop or two of whatever EO scent I want -- often lemon or orange.

do you premake it christine or use it as you go? In the past I have used EVOO with a little vinegar but I found the EVOO oily and I had to re-wipe the surface.

Yeah, I pretty much have to do the same. I usually make it as I go, and after I do a room, I'll go back and re-wipe the spots that need it.

Probably not the most efficient way to tackle it

EVOO can go rancid--- mineral oil is what you use on cutting boards, and what I would advise for other woods as well.

ah see that is what I thought hence having to wipe it down over and over until there was no residue. where is the best place to get mineral oil - well best priced I should say. Can you still add EOs to it?

Mineral oil is petroleum (liquid petrolatum)! I would not put it on a cutting board or furniture.
