What thrifty meals do your kids LOVE?

Can we make a nice little list here?

Our winners are :

soft tacos
baked macaroni and cheese
pork chops and br rice (need a good alternative recipe as I currently do the cream of mushroom soup thing)
baked ziti (sliced black olives, mushrooms, roma tomatoes, zucchini, topped with mozzarella)
ww spaghetti and turkey meatballs
red beans and rice w/ kielbasa
breakfast for dinner

* pancakes and eggs for dinner
* perogies with onions, cabbage, a little bacon, and sour cream
* spaghetti and meatballs (has WAY higher wow-factor than meatsauce, for some reason)
* curry over rice
* Baked whole salmon (we get it free from friends who fish, or whole frozen salmon at the grocery store for like $4 each and can usually get two meals out of it)
* Bean dip and tortilla chips (throw a can of beans, some sour cream, some salsa, seasonings, and cheese into the blender, then warm it up and serve)

egg salad sandwiches w/soup or just chips and veggie sticks

homemade tomato soup (I used canned tomatoes) and quesadillas or grilled cheese sandwiches

those super cheap 10 pack of frozen bean and cheese burritos, with enchilada sauce and cheese on top, baked in the oven.

another breakfast for dinner vote here!

spaghetti with a can of white beans thrown in the sauce (and whatever veggies I have in the fridge).

salmon, prepared any way.

bbq tofu, a new fave.

Boy your kids will eat fancy foods LOL. My kid is super easy to feed cheaply, he loves black beans or kidney beans, plain with a side salad.

peanut butter/honey or agave samdwiches.

Fancy is relative. Don't let the names of our meals fool you, it's mostly just beans & rice in various forms. That's the ticket, making the same ingredients look like a different meal every night. Fools DD every time.

taco salad - chips, refried beans, cheese and lettuce for those who eat them, and taco sauce or salsa

breakfast for dinner

a can of veg. baked beans over rice

and, until the latest round of allergy testing - left over rice, mixed with Bragg's and a scrambled egg for faux fried rice

Mine are picky - no beans here. Driving me crazy. We are working on it though.

Our cheapies are:
*veggie soup (we call it Stone Soup)
*eggs and potatoes
*pancakes (maple syrup is pretty cheap for us)
*spaghetti

Maybe I will start putting a few beans into veggie soup...

Honestly? Mine eat just about anything. We're very lucky. We do have a super picky one in the mix, but I can always make one thing that she will eat.

Glue Pot

(any pasta, bow ties are best)

Once drained, mix with butter, sour cream, cottage cheese, cheddar if you want, mix and let it melt and then salt and pepper.
