yep A bunch of us (Ashley, Jo, Kristarae, Lisa/BloominglikeWinter, can't remember who else) are doing it through Birth Arts International - distance learning, then you have some you have to do locally to be certified. I'm babysitting for a girl from Lindsey's school and her mom asked me if I'd attend her birth this summer Wishing I was still local to your mom's group though!
I'd really like:
Aviva's books (I have the naturally healthy children one, but that's all I've got)
Penny Simkin's "Labor Progress Handbook, 2nd edition"
Sheila Kitsinger's "the complete book of pregnancy and childbirth, 4th edition"
Benig Maugers's "Reclaiming the spirituality of birth: Healing for mother's and babies"
Ina May's guide to childbirth
Sacred Birthing by Sunni Karll
Mother's Intention: how Belief Shapes Birth - by Kim Wildner
Swallowed by a Snake: The gift of the masculine side of healing - by Thomas Golden
The Baby Book, by Sears
The Natural Child: Parenting from the heart - Jan Hunt
Mothering the New Mother: Women's Feelings and Needs after Childbirth - by Sally Placksin
Nurturing the Family: the guide for postpartum doulas - Jacqueline Kelleher
Location: under a pile of fabric, laundry, and toys!

"So let them be little
'Cause they're only that way for a while
Give 'em hope, give them praise
Give them love every day
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle
Let 'em sleep in the middle
Oh but let them be little" - Billy Dean
