So, now I will have "blow money."

I've been thinking about this as payday looms closer. This is the first time I've actually had money allocated specifically for me to do anything I want with it. Now, that's not to say I haven't spent money on myself, but it was often hard for me to justify some things, YK?

SO, we'll see if I actually spend it every month. This month, we also have some Christmas money to spend, so I will have $150 to spend. I want to buy a cookbook, Mark Bittman How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, and it looks like I can get that from Amazon for about $20. I'm thinking about buying some fun ELF makeup. Maybe I'll save up my money and finally get the sewing machine I've been planning on for the last few years.

So often when I have birthday or Christmas money, I don't spend it on something REALLY for me. I buy something for the house or buy very practical items, like soap and maple syrup. I'm thinking what I may do is allow myself a certain amount out of the budget for say, soap or shampoo, and then use my $$ toward handmade soap or natural shampoos, etc.

Just rambling....

You should have fun - that's why it's called blow money.
My DH saves his up so well. He bought his ipod with saved blow money. I should be able to save better now that I don't know anyone and don't have MNOs every other day.

I know! It's totally my own fault, but I spent all my Christmas money on other people or groceries. And then I felt all bummed about that so bought myself a new pair of pajamas (on clearance for just $4.50 each peice) and now feel guilty about it. I cannot spend money on frivolous things. It's ridiculous.
