eyes So I'm off again...starting new "job" number one.

I like to post here because it gives me a bit of accountability. As hard as it is to walk away when everyone's posting so much, I'm going to limit my time here to afternoons/evenings/weekends when I give myself time "off" from work.

My "steady and unglamorous" writing job has started; I got my first assignment yesterday. I get a sign-up bonus when I hand this in, which is nice.

My income went up in December and we're already seeing the positive benefits of that in the budget. Exciting things are afoot, mamas! I can't wait to really be able to sock away several hundred bucks per pay period...I did it this pay period for the first time!

So, it's to work for me. Dh is getting really excited about getting our little farm off the ground this Spring. So am I. I am even thinking about growing enough veggies for a farmer's market stall, with our eggs and maybe some felted soaps that Katie makes (she has a real talent for design and art and loves to make felted soaps). She is really into the idea of crafting and selling items - she's made a few for my mom that she sold at a craft fair in Florida, and she's excited about having her own little business.

With visions of more chickens, some Highland cattle, and maybe even some sheep in my head - but most of all a big fat savings account and our car loan and HEL paid off - I'm off to work!

(Oh and if you have positive vibes and thoughts to spare...please think of me in the next week. I have only posted "teasers" about it but I went in for an interview for a PT mostly-WAH job last month...should hear any day...and between that and my steady writing gig we'd be more than on our feet financially...add to that me doing the writing I love on the side and farming and working on the farm-to-school project, and you have a recipe for a very happily engaged, if incredibly busy, mama.)

ETA - I should throw in a quickie Lyme update. Dh and I are getting MUCH better on antibiotics with some supportive supplements thrown in. Dh is off of gluten and may have celiac disease; he's having some pretty severe reactions, but it is hard to tell what is Lyme and what might be something else. For now, GF it is. I even rowed for 5 min yesterday...my muscle weakness is getting less and less and I think it might be yeast-related, at least partly. I feel like we're on the upswing, anyway!

That sounds idyllic, Lauren! I am so happy for you. Especially to hear that the health stuff seems to be taking a turn in the right direction. I know how the best intentions can get sidetracked with health barriers. Hooray for things looking up after such a hard spell!
