I love it when something frugal falls into your lap

I was making invites for our synagogue's teacher appreciation breakfast and was using one of those invite kits you can purchase at office supply stores. I am soooo excited.
DS1 is having his Bar Mitzvah party in november and we had already chosen the invites, etc and have been saving for them because it was going to cost about $500 for them. Well, he liked these better and SO DID I...especially for something so disposable as an invite!! So we can do it for about $60+ ink, and that won't be much, if any!!! I am so pleased and excited that I can hardly stand it. Certainly makes up at least a small bit for the HUGE amount we are wasting on the caterer provided booze that DH insisted upon for an afternoon party !!!

Wow! $500 for invitations- that would have been a lot of money. What a great way to cut costs.

That's great. I remember looking at wedding invitation stuff with friends and being amazed how much custom invitations cost.

I too remember the custom invites for the weddings. Great savings!

ROFL I know...maybe the title should be "Love it when you are able to get past your previous stupidity and non-frugal ways by paying attention to frugal things that come your way!!" Yes...it is easy to get sucked into all the planning and keeping up with the steins...UGH!!!

lol.

Way to go on the score tho.

I had the neighbors over for a party Friday night. I'm still reeling a bit from the "my label is better than your label" undercurrent. It just so happens that 3 guests will have hs graduates. I'm a bit blown away by their preparations. One is sheetrocking and painting her garage so it'll look nice for company. huh? I thought you cleaned the bathrooms for company. LOL!!!
