Bathroom spruce-up pics!

I finally have satellite internet! I honestly didn't know it would take the guy over 8 hrs to install it. It's been a daylong project! But it is finally done.

So...last week we finished some work in our bathroom. If you remember, last year we replaced tile, toilet, tub and surround. Basically gutted it. But we left up the small mirrored medicine cabinet the old owners had and put some baskets on the wall for additional storage. It wasn't enough - so we pulled out the cabinet and put up a mirror from Matt's grandmother, bought a cabinet for storage of toothbrushes and toiletries, and put it up over the toilet. Got a new shower curtain too, and put up one piece of the baseboard trim behind the toilet. Oh and we replaced the fixture they had, which was not nearly enough light.

Here are pics! I wish I had a wide angle lens - it is impossible in such a tiny space to capture the full picture. If you sit on the toilet you face a wall with four hooks on it that hold our towels and robes, with three wicker baskets beneath them on the floor. One holds magazines/books, another hand towels/washcloths, and the third, bath toys/supplies. We have a satellite bathroom supply box in the basement and a first aid basket on my nightstand.

That looks really nice! I love the wood paneling and the light fixture.....looks so cozy and rustic.

BTW, where did you get the cabinet over the toilet? I am looking for something similar and all I have seen have been on the small side. That one looks pretty large.

It is quite large! We got it on clearance at Home Depot. We spent like 1/2 hr in the aisle looking at it on the wall and trying to find it on the shelf and getting totally frustrated because the "easy find" wasn't easy at all, there were no letters/numbers on the shelves! Then we decided to leave with nothing. On the way out, there it was, in the clearance area. It was $79 marked down from $112 and they had oak and other colors too.

It looks great, and I bet you'll love that storage space. I think there must be quite a learning curve to living in a very small space. My sister is constantly refining her techniques.

Thanks! Yes, xt - I finally feel like I "get it" with this bathroom remodel. I'm so lucky to have massive amounts of storage space - just need to invest in the infrastructure (more shelves, more plastic tubs) to organize all the closets down there since we have no closets on the main level. But also just to purge a lot.

But yeah, there's a lot of "art" to living well in a tiny space. We're bouncing around the idea of an addition sooner rather than later, and I have mixed feelings about it. I kind of like living small!
